Pleyel, Ignace Joseph

Ignace Joseph Pleyel(1757-1831), Austrian composer, studied with Haydn, became Kapellmeister to Count Ladislaus Erdody, and Strasbourg Cathedral; his music was extremely popular during his lifetime. He composed 45 symphonies, concertos, and 16 string quartets.
